9/30/10 Update:
In 1966, a Classmate excitedly told me (on the way to a SE football game) "these are the happiest days of our lives!" My heart sank; I knew the adults in my family didn't settle for such shallow lifestyles. Was I the only teenager who enjoyed high school, but was bored with the nonsense and limited social graces?

Fortunately, life has been an uphill road of fulfillment and rewarding experiences since that strange comment! I have been blessed with continued education (returning to school every 10 years), two marriages (which I'd do all over again!), living in several states before returning to Lincoln, the experience and thrill of raising a fabulous son ~ and sharing great vacations in the US and Europe with him as part of his education, working in management positions in which I thrived and grew on a daily basis, and changing careers at 42. At age 50, I met a retired Marine ~ and decided to stop working a year later to share life with him. What a wise decision! His death years later made me realize how fortunate we were. I miss him 24/7. In 2007 my son and daughter-in-law blessed me with a grandson. I am completely crazy-in-love with that child and he knows it! My Mom down-sized from Wellington Greens about five years ago and is happy in an "over 55 Complex!". However, her health has limited her travels to the States (usually FL and MN). Our family is close and enjoys having all four generations able to meet for lunch or dinner every week or two ~ and, of course, holidays. Life has been very good to me. Who could ask for more??

Other passions include: friendships with integrity, reading, writing, swimming and water sports, snow skiing, world-wide travels AFTER touring our own country, the arts, theater, Jazz, Lincoln Symphony, Lied Center, bridge, politics, investments, formal dinner parties (almost a lost art!), and lots of subtle humor, smiles and gentle tones of voice!

Wishing each of you a lifetime of health and happiness, love and laughter, peace and passion in whatever you do! Best Regards, Sue
