After graduating from Macalester College, I stayed in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have one son, Nils (25 years old) who is working for Verified Identity Pass in New York City. Jim (Reents) and I are also parenting our granddaughter, Ree, who heads off to college this Fall.

In the job realm, I worked for Macalester College 21 years - in Admissions for 9 years and as Dean of Students for 11 years. I have also been a divorce/custody and family mediator and worked at Shattuck-St. Mary's School. Since 1998, I have been with Search Institute, the developmental assets people. We advocate for positive youth development and community change. I am Director of External Relations and connect national systems and organizations with our work. Jim (Reents '66) and I enjoy our Ackerman family cabin in northern Minnesota and look forward to finding . . . or building . . . something in the Southwest when we retire . . . which we hope is in the not-too-distant future!
