Update: Larry and I will are celebrating our 45th anniversary on July 1st. Our three children (Roger (44), Jennifer (38) and Lissa (30) are all grown now but we have given us three grandchildren. Two granddaughters: Shelby 18, Breanna 8; and one grandson, Parker 2 1/2. I retired from USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service 4 years ago after 34 years of Federal Government service - Retirement is GREAT! Larry still works for Molex as a tool and die maker (he is planning to retire next year) and farms our 4 farms in Kansas on the weekends. We seem to always be busy and yet I don't ever seem to get anything done! I am very active in FEW - Federally Employed Women's National Organization serving on the National Board as well as the Regional and Chapter Boards. I do a lot of traveling all around the country for FEW. I still also serve on the Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company's Board of Directors (last 26 years). Between travel, taking care of my mother who is 92 and who still lives in her own home, babysitting (which is my favorite hobby), and going to movies, it seems we are not around home much. I also am an advisor for lia sophia jewelry and host jewelry shows and fundraisers for various organizations, which I really enjoy. What I missed after retiring was being around people and conducting these shows helps fill that void and women love their jewelry! The reunion committee has been working on plans for this reunion and searching for our classmates the past couple of years and I hope that everyone enjoys the weekend! I look forward to seeing you all!
Larry and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary on July 1st. Our three children (Roger, Jennifer and Lissa) are all grown up now, of course. We have two granddaughters, Shelby 13 and Breanna 3. I still work for the Federal Government and I am planning to retire by the end of this year! Yeah! I have decided that 34 years with the government is way too much! Larry works for Molex as a tool and die maker and farms on the weekends in Kansas. We seem to always be busy and yet don't ever seem to get anything done! I am very active in FEW - Federally Employed Women's serving as local Chapter President, Regional Manager and on the National Board as well. I do a lot of traveling around Nebraska for my position with the government and travel all over the country for FEW. I still also serve on the Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company's Board of Directors (last 21 years). Between work, travel, caring for our mothers, Larry's mother is 93 and my mother is 87, babysitting, and my favorite hobby, going to movies, it seems we are not around home much. I need to decide what I want to do when I grow up (retire) - I want to get paid, but don't want to go to work every day - what a deal! Maybe I will figure it out one of these days! |
